Recipe:

Ingredients:

For the Dough:

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 cup warm water (adjust as needed)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

For the Meat Filling:

  • 1 pound ground beef (or lamb/chicken)
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 small green bell pepper, diced (optional)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley or cilantro
  • Optional: 1/2 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)

Instructions:

Step 1: Prepare the Dough

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, sugar, and yeast.
  2. Gradually add warm water and mix until a soft dough forms. Add oil and knead for about 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  3. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rise for 1–1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.

Step 2: Prepare the Meat Filling

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat if needed.
  2. Add chopped onion, garlic, and bell pepper, cooking until softened.
  3. Stir in tomato paste, spices, salt, and parsley, cooking for 2–3 minutes. Let it cool slightly. If desired, mix in shredded cheese.

Step 3: Assemble the Flatbreads

  1. Divide the dough into equal portions (8–10 balls). Roll out each ball into a small circle.
  2. Place a spoonful of meat filling in the center and fold the edges over to seal. Flatten gently into a disk shape.
  3. Repeat for all dough balls.

Step 4: Cook the Flatbreads

  1. Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease with oil.
  2. Cook each flatbread for 3–4 minutes per side, pressing gently, until golden brown and cooked through.

Step 5: Serve and Enjoy
Serve the stuffed flatbreads warm with yogurt, a side salad, or your favorite dipping sauce.

Tips:

  • Customize the filling with other vegetables, spices, or even cooked rice.
  • These flatbreads can be made ahead and reheated on a skillet or in the oven.

Enjoy these hearty stuffed flatbreads for a comforting and flavorful meal!
