  • 1 cup (240ml) whole milk
  • ½ cup (120ml) vegetable oil

  • 1 cup (240ml) boiling water

For the Fudge Frosting:

  • ½ cup (115g) unsalted butter
  • 2/3 cup (80g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 cups (360g) powdered sugar
  • 1/3 cup (80ml) whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

For the Cake:

  1. Preheat and Prepare: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Mix Wet Ingredients: Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla to the dry mixture. Beat until smooth. Stir in boiling water (the batter will be thin).
  4. Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  5. Cool: Allow the cake to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.

For the Fudge Frosting:

  1. Melt Butter: In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
