Introduction:
These cheesy Hasselback potatoes are a show-stopping side dish that combines crispy edges with a soft, buttery interior. Each potato is thinly sliced, filled with cheese, and baked until golden and delicious. Perfect for a dinner party or as a unique twist on the classic baked potato!
Recipe:
Ingredients:
- 4 large potatoes
- 3 tbsp olive oil (or melted butter)
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp dried thyme
- 1 cup shredded cheese (mozzarella, cheddar, or your choice)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Potatoes: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Wash and dry the potatoes. Slice each potato thinly, making cuts about 1/8-inch apart, but don’t cut all the way through—stop about 1/4 inch from the bottom so the potato holds together.
- Season and Bake: Place the potatoes in a baking dish. In a small bowl, mix olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and thyme. Brush this mixture over the potatoes, making sure it gets between the slices. Bake for 45 minutes.
- Add Cheese: After 45 minutes, remove the potatoes from the oven. Gently fan the slices open and sprinkle cheese between the layers and on top of each potato.
- Finish Baking: Return the potatoes to the oven and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and golden brown.
- Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle with fresh parsley before serving. Enjoy these delicious, cheesy Hasselback potatoes hot!
