American Goulash Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
- 1½ cups beef broth or water
- 1½ cups elbow macaroni, uncooked
- 1 tsp paprika (optional)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning (optional)
Instructions:
- Cook the Beef and Vegetables: In a large skillet or pot, brown the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain excess fat. Add chopped onions and garlic, cooking until onions are soft and translucent.
- Add the Tomatoes and Seasoning: Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, beef broth (or water), paprika, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Bring to a simmer.
- Cook the Pasta: Add the uncooked elbow macaroni directly into the sauce. Stir well, cover, and simmer for about 15-20 minutes, or until the pasta is tender. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
- Serve: Once the macaroni is fully cooked and the sauce has thickened, taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Serve hot and enjoy!
