American Goulash Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1½ cups beef broth or water
  • 1½ cups elbow macaroni, uncooked
  • 1 tsp paprika (optional)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Cook the Beef and Vegetables: In a large skillet or pot, brown the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain excess fat. Add chopped onions and garlic, cooking until onions are soft and translucent.
  2. Add the Tomatoes and Seasoning: Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, beef broth (or water), paprika, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Bring to a simmer.
  3. Cook the Pasta: Add the uncooked elbow macaroni directly into the sauce. Stir well, cover, and simmer for about 15-20 minutes, or until the pasta is tender. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
  4. Serve: Once the macaroni is fully cooked and the sauce has thickened, taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Serve hot and enjoy!
